Farming is a bit different in the Dalat region of Vietnam. Upon one of our motorbike rides we stumble across an urban farm tucked away in a large green house on top of the hill, curious we stopped to poke our heads in. Most farmers over here have a greenhouse within the city and a farm on the outskirts, so a large number of farmers actually live within the city and travel out to the farm each day. Quite a different system to the Australian way of life, as usually farming had a strong association with isolation!
Meet Khanh, a vietnamese farmer. He lives within the city of Dalat where his family runs several greenhouses to foster young seedlings which are then transplanted to his larger farm on the outskirts of town. Through his business he can supply large quantities of seedlings to local farmers usually sunflowers, tomatoes, potatoes and more recently hydroponic strawberries.
